Fear and Loathing and Sheep's Clothing

Heather Mercer and Dayna Curry decided to go to help people who needed help. Their faith led them to Afghanistan. One woman who knows them best put it this way: they had a calling to serve the poorest of the poor, and Afghanistan is where that calling took them.

United States President George W. Bush regarding aid workers rescued from Afghanistan at a White House ceremony in the The Rose Garden, November 26, 2001. Did it ever occur to the dumb fucker in that egg shaped office that if Afghanis came preaching Islam, if it was strictly forbidden in the United States, John Ashcroft would have an orgasm decorating the tribunal? Bush would probably have hanged them in Texas if he were still governor. These sweet smiling zealots broke the law, and disregarded the rules of a foreign country, whilst conning Muslims into converting into Christianity - an act punishable by death under the Taliban. Granted they broke laws worth breaking, but so are half the dumb half-assed, constitutionally-challenged pieces of elephant dung being proffered by the dimwit he turned loose in Department of Justice.

Today is a great honor for us, as well, to be here with our President. It's probably one of the greatest privileges of my life. And I just want to also thank our President. During our time in prison, we prayed almost daily for our nation's government and for the President. And we were so honored to be a part of a country that has such a man of God and such a wonderful leader serving our nation. -- HEATHER MERCER
Well, I can't really add much to that. That was perfectly said. But, again, I'm just so thrilled to be here, so thrilled to be alive and to be with my family again. I'll never be able to thank America and the different Christians around the world who prayed for us, literally, 24/7, around the clock they were praying for us. -- DAYNA CURRY

Jesus Christ, spare us! Heather Mercer and Dayna Curry, aid workers rescued from Afghanistan at a White House ceremony after they had been rescued following their capture for preaching Christianity clandestinely under the Taliban in direct violation of the rules of a foreign country. How about thanking the goddamn recon squad that risked their lives coming to rescue your treasonous happy clappy asses. God had about as much to do with it as he did protecting the poor, innocent sods in the World Trade Center. “Let’s see!" said the Lord, "Should I save the thousands in the towers they’re about to fly into, or reserve my energy for the Burhka Babes for Jesus." And then He rested.

We should not as a society grow life to destroy it...And that's exactly what's taking place. And I have made that position very clear… bad public policy - not only that, it's morally wrong in my opinion.

United States President George W. Bush on reports a small, privately financed biotechnology company has created the first human embryos ever produced by cloning. While Mr. Bush’s execution record in Texas as Governor is hardly one to look at when it comes to any kind of moral high ground regarding the sanctity of life, he need just point to his cabinet to gain support for his position on the horror of two. Think – John Ashcroft x 2.

While the announcement's practical import remains unclear, the moral questions aren't all that nuanced. The experiments raise the prospect of cloned human beings - and that is no road for humanity to be traveling.

New York Post editorial "Our Quarrel with Cloning," November 28, 2001. Timothy McVeigh, Andrea Yates and Ted Bundy would have more authenticity in this regard than the tabloid trash vomited out by Rupert Murdoch. Think of how much better the cockfight among heirs Lachlan, James and Elizabeth for control of News Corp. would be if there were two of each.

I understand he's anti-abortion also. He's a good man.

Anti-abortion extremist, Clayton Waagner, who was also one of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted before being caught, (allegedly threatening to kill 42 abortion clinic workers unless they notify him through the Internet that they have quit their jobs) describing Attorney General John Ashcroft. Waagner, who escaped from an Illinois jail in February while waiting to be sentenced for possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen vehicle, according the U.S. Marshal Service, is believed responsible for the anthrax hoaxes against abortion clinics. So this is what happens when your heroes are the likes of Ashcroft and your mother belongs to Concerned Women for America.

We're an open society, but we're at war. The enemies declared war on us...We must not let foreign enemies use those forms of liberty to destroy liberty itself. Foreign terrorists and agents must never again be allowed to use our freedoms against us.

Brushing aside criticism, President Bush defended his authorization of military tribunals and the questioning of Middle Easterners in the United States to a gathering of federal prosecutors visiting the White House. Clever little man! So let’s deny everyone his or her freedom and there will be nothing that can be used against us. Did someone say fuzzy logic? We voted this jerk in to office (Well at least the Supreme Court did). America gets what it deserves.

Some have sought to condemn us with faulty facts or without facts at all…Others have simply rushed to judgment, always eager to assume the worst of their government before they've had a chance to understand it...These voices of negativism cannot obscure the course of freedom that is the gathering force in the world today.

Pearls from the prophet, Attorney General John Ashcroft on the administration’s investigation tactics after the Sept. 11 attacks. The tactics include authorization of military courts to try non-citizen suspects, interviews with hundreds of people of Middle Eastern descent, secret detentions and the monitoring of jailhouse conversations between lawyers and clients. People like anti-abortion extremist Clayton Waagner appear to understand him. The rest of the country seems to think that he’s a dysfunctional, maniacal lunatic who has waged war on America’s freedom. While the thought of him prancing around the Justice Department in fishnet and stilettos gleefully monitoring everything in sight -- like J. Edgar Hoover did -- is almost comical, the reality is that this demented son of a bitch is about as helpful to the constitution and America’s freedom as gun control was to Nicole Brown Simpson.

We're not attacking Islam, but Islam has attacked us. The God of Islam is not the same God… He's not the son of God of the Christian or Judeo-Christian faith. It's a different God, and I believe it is a very evil and wicked religion.

The Rev. Franklin Graham, who spoke at President Bush's inauguration, and offspring of Billy Graham in a recent statement. Aside from the intelligence and the message of religious tolerance, the reality is that Graham’s comments do a disservice to America’s military who, believe it or not is a lot more tolerant than this lily White pantywaist, and who are working Muslim and Christian alongside one another in pretty gruesome conditions as it is. Aside from sewing general hatred and intolerance among civilians, Graham’s comments do nothing more than foster mistrust, discord and hate among servicemembers of different faiths, which threaten morale and unit cohesion and are nothing short of traitorous. Intern him, Mr. Ashcroft.
